Course Overview
Are you passionate about supporting people’s mental health and breaking down the stigma that surrounds it? The T Level in Health with a specialism in Mental Health puts you right at the heart of one of the most important areas in healthcare today. Over two years, you’ll combine classroom learning with real industry experience, building the knowledge, confidence, and skills to help those who need it most.
The Mental Health pathway is all about developing the expertise to support individuals, families, and communities. You’ll explore mental health conditions and their impact, learn about recovery-based care, and discover how to promote wellbeing across all kinds of settings. You’ll also develop therapeutic skills—building rapport, communicating effectively, and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, social workers and therapists. With a strong focus on mental health legislation, risk management, and supporting families and carers, you’ll gain the real-world skills that employers value and patients rely on.
Alongside this specialism, you’ll study the core modules shared across all Health T Levels. These cover person-centred care, health and wellbeing, infection control, managing data, and clinical practice. This gives you a solid foundation for working in any healthcare role.
One of the highlights of the course is the industry placement—around 315 hours in real healthcare environments—where you’ll put theory into practice and gain valuable experience to boost your career or university applications.
Equivalent to three A Levels, this T Level opens doors to nursing, psychology, counselling, social work, and beyond.
If you’re ready to make a difference in mental health, this course is your chance to turn passion into action.
