Course Overview

Are you interested in engineering and want to experience what it is like to work in a real engineering environment? The Future Engineers School Club is an exciting six-week, hands-on programme for Year 10 and Year 11 students, giving you the opportunity to experience engineering at college. You will design and manufacture practical projects using industry-relevant equipment and techniques, including CAD, milling, turning, CNC machining and fabrication. This engaging programme will help you develop valuable technical skills while discovering where a future in engineering could take you.

Course Overview

You will learn how engineering ideas are developed from an initial design through to a finished product. You will gain practical experience using CAD, milling, turning, CNC machines and fabrication techniques, while developing your problem-solving, precision and technical skills. You will work on practical engineering projects, including creating an engineered clock, giving you an insight into the skills and processes used by professional engineers and helping you prepare for further study and a future career in engineering.
