If you’re driving, you can park in our secure, barriered car park for free! Once you have passed your test simply head to Student Services and apply for a car park permit, which, along with your College ID, gives you access. There’s also designated parking for blue badge holders.
Feel like riding? Cycling is a great way to stay active and eco-friendly! Nelson & Colne College has a large covered bike shed where you can safely store your bike during lessons. Plus, if you want extra help, our Student Services team can offer advice on cycling routes or potential cycle loan schemes.
There are loads of bus routes that make getting to Nelson & Colne College easy:
Direct College Services – To make things even easier, Nelson & Colne College runs its own direct-to-College buses. These special routes pick you up at set locations, drop you off right on campus, and even take you back when classes are done. You just need to show your college ID badge to access these buses.Â

– 111 (Burnley, Todmorden, Brierfield)

Regular Nelson Interchange Services – Most buses in the Pendle area stop at the Nelson Interchange. From there, you can either take a quick connecting bus or enjoy a 10-minute walk to campus.
Nervous about costs? Don’t stress! If you’re 16–18 years old, you can apply for subsidised termly bus passes. Plus, if your household’s annual income is under £37,500, you could even receive free bus travel. Transdev bus passes also work evenings, weekends, and holidays, meaning you can travel around the local area for free too!
Prefer the train? There’s an hourly Colne-Preston service that stops at key stations such as Colne, Burnley Central, Blackburn, and Nelson (just a 10-minute walk from Nelson & Colne College). With regular connections and easy access, it’s a brilliant option for students.
