Students at Nelson and Colne College are celebrating another exceptional Results Day, with one in three A Level students achieving an A* or A grade. Vocational and T Level students are also celebrating outstanding results, achieving impressive pass rates of 99% and 98% respectively, and BTEC learners achieving an extraordinary 83% High Grades.

The results build on Nelson and Colne College’s strong track record, with the college ranked Number 1 nationally for both A Level and vocational progress.*

Learners also achieved a 100% pass rate in 34 subjects across A Levels, T Levels and Level 3 Technical Education courses, including English Language and English Literature, Business, Law, Physics, Biology, Further Maths, 3D Design, Graphics, Sociology, Engineering & Manufacturing, Education & Early Years, Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction, and more.

Students are now taking their next steps at some of the country’s leading universities, securing highly sought-after apprenticeships and starting rewarding careers.

Among them are learners heading to the University of Cambridge and a wide range of leading universities across the country, reinforcing NCC’s exceptional track record of helping young people achieve more and progress to their chosen next steps.

Learners collecting their results today included:

• Mahnoor Shahzad, 19, who is anticipating a place at The University of Cambridge reading Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences after completing her A Levels.
• Lily Finnan, 18, is aiming to study Midwifery at ULAN this year after completing a T Level in Health.
• Zaryaab Tariq Khan, 19, who is looking forward to reading Cyber Security at Manchester Metropolitan University as he collects the results from his Level 3 Digital technical qualification.

The results follow a landmark year for NCC and East Lancashire Learning Group, which was officially confirmed as the Number 1 FE College in the country in the latest national achievement rate tables (NARTs).

ELLG brings together Nelson and Colne College, Accrington and Rossendale College, Lancashire Adult Learning, East Lancashire UC and East Lancashire Apprenticeships, providing education and training for thousands of learners across the region.

The latest results build on more than two decades of excellence. ELLG is the only college group in the country to have maintained an Ofsted Outstanding rating for more than 20 consecutive years and is ranked the Number 1 FE College in the country.

This commitment to excellence is reflected in the industry-standard learning environments available to students across the Group. These include the Industry Innovation Hub for Engineering at NCC, cutting-edge Digital and Health facilities at Accrington and Rossendale College, and a recently announced £3.3 million investment to transform construction training facilities.
