You’ll be assessed on your performance, while also completing a detailed written analysis reflecting on your strengths, areas for improvement, and tactical decisions. How is the course delivered?

A Level Physical Education is delivered through a mix of classroom lessons, practical performance, and applied sports science, combining theory on anatomy, physiology, psychology, and sport in society with hands-on sessions where you develop and refine your skills in a chosen sport.

How my learning will be assessed?

A Level Physical Education is assessed through a combination of written exams and practical assessment at the end of the two-year course. The theory element makes up 70% of the final grade and is assessed through two written papers, covering topics such as anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, psychology of sport, skill acquisition, and the role of sport in society. The remaining 30% is based on practical performance in one chosen sport, alongside a verbal or written analysis and evaluation of performance. This structure ensures you’re assessed on both your theoretical knowledge and your ability to apply it in practice.
