Course Overview
Do you love the idea of helping children learn, grow, and thrive? The T Level in Education and Early Years (Early Years Educator) gives you the skills and experience to do just that. Over two years, you’ll combine classroom study with hands-on learning in real early years settings, preparing you for a career where you can make a real difference.
In the Early Years Educator specialism, you’ll focus on supporting and promoting children’s play, development, and early education. You’ll learn how to build positive, nurturing relationships with children, create safe and stimulating environments, and support their wellbeing and learning through play. This specialism is all about developing the practical skills and confidence you’ll need to work directly with children in nurseries, schools, or childcare settings.
Alongside this, you’ll cover the core modules that give you a strong foundation in education. You’ll study child development from birth to 19 years, learn how to support children’s learning and behaviour, and explore key areas like safeguarding, equality and diversity, SEND, and working with families and professionals. You’ll also develop skills in observation and assessment and learn how to reflect on your own practice to keep improving.
A big part of this T Level is the industry placement—at least 750 hours working with children. This is your chance to apply your learning in real settings, gain confidence, and get experience that employers value highly.
With assessments through exams, an employer-set project, and your placement, you’ll finish this course with the skills, knowledge, and experience to step into a rewarding career in early years—or continue your journey at university.
If you want to inspire and support the next generation, this T Level is the perfect place to start.
